Uploading items (stimuli)

With RealEye you can run four types of studies:

After clicking "New Study" you'll be asked to select your study type:

Then you need to set Study settings and, in the next step, upload your stimuli:

  • basic stimuli

To add images to your study, you may select files from your computer or drag and drop them.

A single study can have up to 100 images (JPEG or PNG, up to 30 MB). Min. resolution of each image is 500 x 500 px and max. resolution is 15000 x 15000 px. You can upload images one by one or a few at once.

A single study can have up to 100 videos. Max file size 200 MB. Max 4000 px high - otherwise, its resolution is being reduced. You can also enable original video file.

After uploading your first item, you’ll see it on the board. You can delete it if uploaded by mistake or a wrong one, change their order (on a study timeline), or, if you want, add other stimuli. To do so, simply click the “Add files” button.

Then you can set Item settings.

Uploading items for Website Mockup studies looks the same as for image/video studies. You may use, i.e., Full Page Screen Capture, any other Chrome plugin, or similar plugins for other browsers.

Item requirements (i.e., max size) are the same as for images/video studies).

  • embedded website

To learn more about this study type, please read this article.

  • screen recording

Add any website by pasting the starting-point URL. Then set the study time - for how long a participant can browse through your page or how much time he/she has to make your task (you can describe a task, i.e., "find contact info on this website" as an intro message while creating a study").

The main study tab (with instructions and calibration) opens your examined website in a new tab. If a participant ends the task earlier, he can click on the main study tab to end the eye-tracking part.

Then you can create a survey.

Please remember that this kind of study doesn't provide results as aggregated heatmaps (see: Website testing best practices).

Further course of each type of study looks the same. After adding items, you can preview your test (see what it will look like for participants) and run the study.
