How to run RealEye studies without eye-tracking and facial coding option

There is a way to run RealEye studies without the eye-tracking or facial coding feature. That means a webcam is not required to participate in such a study. It can be used as a control group for a traditional eye-tracking study.

You can activate this version in 2 ways:

  1. Choosing the "RealEye Mouse-tracker (Simulated eye-tracking; DISABLES Facial Coding and head position control)" from the "Eye-tracking Setup" in the Study setup
  2. Adding a "reio-webcam-disable=1" variable to the participation link.

In this mode, the cursor position is treated as the gaze, so you'll get cursor heatmaps and recordings.
