Third party eye-tracker integration
You can conduct your eye-tracking study with the RealEye tool using a webcam (by default) or an external hardware eye-tracker (GP3). Data will be collected with the hardware device but processed and analyzed by RealEye software. Moreover, we'll still use a webcam to keep the participant's head position in the right place and to track emotions.
First, in the "Study Setup" tab, you can choose the eye-tracking setup, so if the gaze data will be collected by:
- webcam (default),
- webcam + smartphone (as an additional webcam),
- eye-tracker that uses Open Gaze API, so i.e., GP3 hardware eye-tracker.
NOTE: using those additional options may require a proper plan.
After that step, finish creating your study as usual and send the study participation link to your panelists.
To run the test with the third-party eye-tracker, the tool has to be already connected to the computer (watch here how to do it). The participant can calibrate before opening the participation link or during the study instructions when she/he sees the message:
The rest of the study flow remains the same.
